SUPER 8 FILMS
FOR YOUR WEDDING
No digital camera can replicate that Super 8 feel - warm and beautifully nostalgic.
If you've ever watched old home movies and felt that rush of nostalgia, you already know the feeling.
Super 8 wedding videography is one of the most exciting things I've added to my services. Shot on authentic film stock and woven seamlessly into your wedding film, it brings a beautifully imperfect charm unlike anything you'll have seen in a wedding film before.

Super 8 is an authentic film format from the 1960s - the kind of camera your grandparents might have used to film family holidays and special occasions. The footage has a distinctive warmth to it, with soft edges and a slightly dreamy quality, like stepping back in time to that treasured moment.
As a Super 8 wedding videographer, I love how it adds a layer of emotion and nostalgia that my couples absolutely love. I weave these silent snippets into your wedding film, with those gorgeous grainy moments appearing like little windows into a different era of your love story.

On the day, I'll shoot Super 8 during the most visually beautiful moments - preparations, couple portraits, venue details, confetti, some reception and dancing.
Each roll gives approximately 2-3 minutes of footage, so for a full wedding day I'd typically recommend 1-3 rolls depending on how much Super 8 you'd like woven through your film.
After your wedding, the film is sent away for processing before being scanned and edited into your final film alongside the digital footage. It takes a little longer than digital - but the results are worth every second of the wait.
HOW SUPER 8 WORKS AT YOUR WEDDING
Super 8 is an authentic film format from the 1960s, known for its warm tones, soft grain and distinctive vintage quality. For weddings, it adds a layer of emotion and nostalgia that digital video can't replicate, woven seamlessly into your wedding film alongside the digital footage.
Super 8 is available as an add-on to any of my wedding videographer packages at £225 per roll. For a full wedding day I'd recommend 1-3 rolls as one roll gives approximately 2-3 minutes of footage.
Turnaround is the same as a standard edit which is 8-12 weeks depending on the time of year. The film needs to go away for processing after your wedding before being scanned and edited in, which is part of what makes it so special.
Currently Super 8 is available as an add-on to any of my wedding videography packages rather than as a standalone booking. If you're interested in Super 8 as part of your package, get in touch and we can talk through what would work best.
Yes, Super 8 film is 100% silent, which is part of its charm. The music from your wedding film flows through everything, with those gorgeous grainy Super 8 moments woven in between the digital footage. It creates a really beautiful, layered effect.
