Silchester Farm Wedding Videographer
In the 12 years I have been lucky enough to be a wedding videographer, there are many venues across Hampshire, Surrey, London and the South West that I have had the absolute pleasure of shooting weddings at. Silchester Farm – located in between Basingstoke and Reading, is one of those venues that forever stays in your mind after visiting. It is jaw droppingly-stunning! You’ve got all that rustic charm from a typical farm and barn wedding venue, but this place is so so different. Yes you have the animals (of which you can feed yourselves if you’re the lucky couple tying the knot here!) but it has this modern and elegant beauty that is unmatched with anywhere else I have worked before.
The Hampshire Threshing Barn is the perfect spot to say “I do” surrounded by your nearest and dearest (a tip from us visual artists would be to have the seats facing the windows so you get the perfect window light when you’re saying your vows!) as well as the Lakeside spot for those warmer days or if you’ve always dreamed of having an outdoor “English garden” ceremony.
But I think the biggest wow factor comes with The Cow Shed. Think of it as your very own boujee barn for you to eat, drink and dance the night away. Oh and before I forget to mention – the food is OUTSTANDING! Ten out of ten from me.

So you’re probably wanting to see a real wedding at this point right? Well I of course can deliver. With a few Silchester Farm weddings under my belt now, I am proud to share one I absolutely loved.
Abigail and Alex were the kind of couple I just knew I was going to vibe with on the day. They were up for anything and so chilled about the day. They got married in May and chose to have an outdoor ceremony by the lake. An acoustic guitar player played Abigail down the aisle with her Mum and her bridesmaids followed by drinking and eating in the sun and like I mentioned earlier – feeding the goats, pigs ducks and you name it anything that came our way as we got totally ambushed by the whole farm!
It was the most amazing day and all their guests were smiling and laughing all day – which is what it is all about! I tried to make their video reflect their day exactly as it felt and incorporated lots of audio from their ceremony and speeches. The best men’s speech was definitely one I wanted to include parts of as it was utterly hilarious! It slotted in perfectly with their story I was retelling.
In my personal opinion, Silchester Farm is a dream venue for a wedding videographer and a wedding photographer. The wide open spaces, but also the large indoor space means we can move about freely, capturing what matters without being too restricted on space. The Hampshire Threshing Barn can be dark, but the large windows allow enough of that dramatic natural light in, which us videographers and photographers love!
There are also so many outdoor areas for photo opportunities. The long driveway bordered by those tall trees are breathtaking and a popular spot for those all important couple portraits. The fields are the perfect spot for that golden hour moment, if you’re lucky enough to get it like these two were, and you might even be joined by the local farm animals too – just watch your step, it’s a working farm after all! The Dutch Barn is probably my personal favourite spot for portraits and group shots. The soft, muted tones of the corrugated walls create a really beautiful, understated backdrop that works with almost any colour palette and adds incredible depth to my films, without ever feeling like a big distraction. You are honestly spoilt for choice on locations here.

A wedding at Silchester Farm is always such a joy to film at. With its relaxed atmosphere, beautiful surroundings and thoughtfully designed spaces that work effortlessly on camera – all make it a dream venue for me. As a wedding videographer in Hampshire, venues like this make it easy for me to create my signature natural, authentic and true films for my couples. And the fact I am only 20 minutes away is even more of a dream!
If you’re planning your wedding at Silchester Farm and are looking for a videographer who captures those moments in an honest and considered way, I’d love to hear more about your plans.
